Keeping the Environment in Mind

Looking for a hotel that keeps the environment in mind?

In today’s world, sustainability has become a way of life. The Kensington Hotel is committed to this way of life, which our guests can see in our housekeeping practices. From the cleaning materials we use, to our efforts in reducing water consumption and embracing recycling, our housekeeping operations are geared towards minimizing our environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

One of the most significant steps we have taken towards sustainability is transitioning to eco-friendly cleaning products that are not only effective in removing dirt and grime, but also gentle on the environment. These products are free from harsh chemicals and toxins, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for both our guests and staff.

In addition to eco-friendly cleaning materials, we’ve also implemented measures to reduce water consumption throughout the hotel. By installing water conservation shower heads and encouraging guests to reuse towels and linens, we’ve significantly decreased our water usage without compromising cleanliness or guest comfort. This commitment to water conservation not only benefits the environment, but also helps us lower our operating costs, and those savings are passed onto our guests.

Recycling has also become a fundamental part of our housekeeping routine. Instead of single-use plastic bottles, we provide refillable containers for toiletries and cleaning products in guest rooms. This not only reduces waste but encourages guests to adopt more sustainable habits during their stay. Additionally, we practice triple sheeting, using layers of high-quality linens that can be easily washed and reused, further minimizing our environmental footprint.

Sustainability isn’t just about the materials we use; it’s also about the effectiveness of our housekeeping practices. Our dedicated team of housekeepers undergoes regular training to ensure they’re equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. From thorough disinfection of surfaces to going the extra mile to ensure every corner of the room is spotless, our housekeeping team takes pride in their work and is committed to providing guests with a safe and comfortable environment.

March Madness & BBQ

Need a festive place to kick off March Madness?

As March arrives, three traditions stand out above all others. The Collegiate Basketball Tournament referred to fondly as “March Madness,” spring training for baseball and all the renewed hope derived from that, and breaking the grill out from its long winter slumber. Each of these events emphasize the impending warmer weather and all the excitement it brings. You can feel the energy in spring as March moves on and we anticipate April.

In Relish, spring means BBQ!  We are excited to bring Grub BBQ back as an element of our dinner menu on March 21st. Chef Doug will be firing up the smoker and “queing” brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs and sausage. This will be offered to dine in or take out just in time to watch March Madness. Of course, as spring becomes summer and summer becomes fall, Grub BBQ will be there through it all. We will be offering Grub BBQ Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. each night.

Don’t forget that self-care means a little self -indulgence! We pride ourselves on the Kensington chocolate chip cookie. In honor of national chocolate chip cookie week, March 3rd – March 9th, come join us and enjoy our house-made cookies warmed in a skillet and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy All March has to Offer at an Ann Arbor Hotel!

Whether you’re looking for maximum comfort, a place to stay productive on the go, or just some delicious barbeque to go with March Madness, the Kensington has it all! Call (866) 446-1329 or submit a contact form to book your stay at our Ann Arbor hotel.
